Bakeries & pâtisseries

An online shop for your bakery, with pickup slots.

Your customers already order ahead — by phone, on a paper slip, at the counter. Add Your Shop is an online shop for bakeries, added to the website you already have: pre-orders paid in advance and collected at the slot your customers chose. We set it all up for you.

No setup fee, no monthly fee. 2.5% per order paid online, capped at €49 a month.

A pâtisserie counter with fruit tarts, an entremets, éclairs and brioches; shelves of bread behind and a phone on the marble.
Before the doors open

At six in the morning the ovens are full and the phone starts ringing. Online orders don't ring: they arrive written down, paid for and with a pickup time.

A sourdough loaf for Saturday, an entremets for Sunday lunch, forty croissants for an office meeting — each order lands in your inbox with everything you need to prepare it.

Three kraft paper bags of baguettes and pastries, each with a blank tag, lined up on a marble counter for collection.
How it works for a bakery

From the order book to a Shop tab.

Today, a weekend order is a name in the order book, a call taken with floury hands, sometimes a deposit in the till. With a Shop tab, your customer chooses the products, the day and the pickup slot, then pays by card. You receive one email per order — and a clear list for the bakehouse.

  • Pickup slots you choose — every 30 minutes on Saturday morning, for example
  • Pre-order dates for galettes, Christmas logs and Easter
  • Marked sold out once you've made enough
  • Allergen information on every product page
What you can sell online

A year of orders

The bakery's year, ordered ahead.

Open pre-orders when customers start asking, close them when the ovens are full. Send us each season's range and we put it online, usually within a working day or two.

January

Galettes des rois — frangipane, or brioche des rois in the south — by size and with the crown, from New Year to the end of the month.

February

Valentine's entremets for two; bugnes, merveilles and beignets for Mardi gras.

Easter

Chocolate eggs and moulages, nests and Easter brioches, reserved for the long weekend.

May and June

Communions, christenings and weddings; cakes for Mother's Day (late May in France, mid-May in Belgium) and Father's Day.

Summer

Fruit tarts for Sunday lunch. Closing for the holidays? Your shop shows when you reopen and takes orders for that day.

La rentrée

Birthday cakes, school fêtes and office breakfasts come back in September.

December

Saint-Nicolas on the 6th — manneles and speculoos — then Christmas: logs, pain d'épices, cougnous and coquilles, with pickup slots on the 24th and the 31st.

In figures

Three months at an illustrative bakery.

Invented figures, real maths: 2.5% per order, never more than €49 in a calendar month, with Stripe's own fee shown separately.

Illustrative example

A usual month

Sixty weekend pre-orders: bread, croissants by the dozen, a few tarts.

60 orders × €18.00 = €1,080.00

December

150 orders between Saint-Nicolas and New Year's Eve, mostly Christmas logs. A €6,000 month costs €49 in commission, not €150.

Add Your Shop, 2.5%: €150.00

Questions

Bakers ask us

Guide: Christmas pre-orders
Can customers choose their pickup time?

Yes. You choose the days and the slots — every 30 minutes on Saturday morning, for instance — and customers pick one at checkout. The slot appears in your order email and in their confirmation.

How far ahead can people order?

You decide. Many bakeries take bread orders until the day before, celebration cakes two days ahead, and open galettes and Christmas logs on dates of their choosing. When you've made as many as you can, the product shows as sold out.

What about allergens?

When food is sold at a distance, EU rules ask for allergen information to be available before the order is placed. Send us your allergen table and we add it to each product page. More from the European Commission.

Can a customer cancel a cake order?

Perishable food and cakes made to a customer's specifications are excluded from the 14-day withdrawal right that covers most online purchases (in France, article L221-28 of the Code de la consommation). Your shop shows your own terms — for example, free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup. If you refund an order, we refund our commission on the refunded amount. Check the rules for your activity.

Do I have to watch the computer all day?

No. Orders arrive by email; most bakers read or print them at the end of the day, before the next bake. Your customers receive their confirmation automatically.

What does a typical order cost me?

On a €20 order: €0.50 to us (2.5%) and €0.55 to Stripe for a standard European card. Once your commission for the month reaches €49, the rest of that month's orders carry no commission. No setup fee, no monthly fee.
