What we do and how to begin
What Add Your Shop is, what we need from you and how long it takes.
What is Add Your Shop?
We add a Shop tab to the website you already have: a link in your menu that opens your online shop, in your colours. We set it up for you (products, photos, prices, card payments, pickup, delivery or shipping) and look after it afterwards. Your site, its address and its host stay the same.
Who is it for?
Independent food, drink and craft businesses in France, Belgium and the United Kingdom: bakeries, chocolatiers, wine shops and estates, florists, cheese shops, butchers and delis, farms, breweries and makers. If you sell products that customers collect, that you deliver locally or that you can post, it usually fits. See the trades we work with.
What do you need from me to start?
Your website address and what you sell. A price list, a menu or a few photos (even a picture of your blackboard) is enough to begin, and we can also start from your current website. Then tell us how customers should get their orders: pickup slots, local delivery, shipping or a mix.
What does the free setup include?
We build your shop from what you send us: up to 100 products at launch, your logo and colours, pickup slots, delivery zones or shipping rates, order emails, guidance to open your own Stripe account, and the Shop link on your site. We add the link ourselves, or send your web designer a one-line instruction. Bigger catalogue? We'll confirm what's involved before we start.
How long does it take?
Typically a few working days once we have your products, prices and photos. You see the shop and approve it before it goes live. See how it works, step by step.
Which languages are available?
Your shop can be in French, in English or in both. Our support is in French and English, by email or phone, from real people.
What is the founding shops programme?
Our first 50 shops pay the same price as everyone else. What they get is time: setup by the founder, a direct support line, a say in what we build next and, if they wish, their story on this site. Read about the programme.
Fees, the monthly cap and refunds
No setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum term. 2.5% per order, capped at €49 a month.
See pricing and the calculatorHow much does Add Your Shop cost?
There is no setup fee, no monthly fee and no minimum term. We charge 2.5% of each order paid online, calculated on the total the customer pays (products plus any delivery charge), capped at €49 per shop per calendar month, excluding VAT. Stripe's card fee is separate, paid to Stripe and never marked up by us: for standard European cards, 1.5% + €0.25 per payment. If you sell nothing, you pay nothing.
How does the €49 cap work?
The cap applies to each shop, per calendar month. Our 2.5% adds up order by order; once it reaches €49, which happens at €1,960 of orders, the rest of that month's orders carry no commission. On the first day of the next month, the count starts again from zero. Months are counted by the date each order is paid, in Brussels time, and each shop has its own cap: a business with two shops, for two locations for example, has two caps.
December is where it shows. Sell €6,000 online over the month and 2.5% would come to €150; you pay €49. Every order after the first €1,960 is commission-free until 1 January.
What does a quiet month cost?
Only 2.5% of what you sell. €300 of online orders means €7.50 in commission. A month with no online orders costs nothing: there is no subscription running in the background.
What happens to your commission when I refund a customer?
Refund a customer in full or in part, and no commission is due on the refunded amount: if we have already collected it, we refund it or credit it against your next commission.
- Full refund: on a €40 order, our €1.00 commission is refunded.
- Partial refund: refund €10 of that €40 order, and we refund €0.25, the commission on the €10.
A refund counts against the month in which the order was paid: we recalculate that month's commission, still capped at €49, and refund or credit the difference. The same applies to chargebacks. Stripe's own rules apply to its fee: on its standard pricing, Stripe does not return the processing fee of the original payment (checked October 2026).
Is VAT included, and how is the commission collected?
Our 2.5% and the €49 cap are quoted excluding VAT. VAT may apply to our commission, depending on where your business is based and its VAT status; where the reverse charge applies, our invoice says so.
Where possible, our commission is deducted automatically from each payment through Stripe; otherwise we invoice it monthly. Either way, for each month in which commission is due you receive an invoice showing the orders, the commission, the cap where it applied, any refunds and the VAT.
I sell in pounds. What changes?
For shops selling in pounds sterling, the commission is the same 2.5% per order, capped at £42 per calendar month, which is reached at £1,680 of orders. Stripe's standard rate for a UK business is 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards (checked October 2026).
How do customers pay, and when do I receive the money?
Customers pay by Visa, Mastercard, Cartes Bancaires, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and with Bancontact in Belgium. Payments go to your own Stripe account and are paid out to your bank. Stripe usually schedules your first payout 7 to 14 days after your first payment; after that, its standard timing in France, Belgium and the UK is 3 business days. Our guide to card payments explains fees, payouts and disputes.
From order to handover
Pickup slots, local delivery, shipping, quantities and pre-orders: set up the way you work.
How do I receive orders?
By email. Each order arrives in your inbox with what you need to prepare it: the products, the quantities, the pickup slot or delivery address and the amount paid. Your customer receives a confirmation at the same time.
Can customers choose a pickup time?
Yes. We set up pickup slots around your opening hours: the days, the times, the length of each slot and how many orders you can hand over in it. Our click & collect guide helps you choose.
Can I deliver locally or ship?
Yes, whichever suits you: local delivery zones with your own charges, shipping with your own rates, or both alongside pickup. You decide which products can be shipped and which are collect-only, such as fresh cakes.
Can I limit quantities or take pre-orders for a date?
Yes. Products can have limited quantities, show as sold out, or be available to pre-order for a given date, such as yule logs for 24 December. See our guide to Christmas pre-orders.
What if a customer doesn't collect their order?
Your collection policy applies: how long you keep orders, and what happens to fresh products that aren't collected. Show it before checkout, and contact the customer using the details in their order. Whether you refund is your decision as the seller, and if you do, we refund our commission on the refunded amount.
Can I sell wine, beer or spirits?
Yes, if you are allowed to sell them where you are. Your shop asks customers to confirm their age at checkout, and we go through the other rules (licences, advertising, notices, shipping) with you during setup. Our guide to selling wine online in France covers the essentials.
Your site stays yours
We add a Shop tab to the website you already have. Here's what that means in practice.
Check compatibility with your siteWill my website change?
Only by one link. We add a Shop tab to your menu; your pages, your address and your host stay exactly as they are.
Which website builders does it work with?
Almost all of them: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Jimdo, GoDaddy, Hostinger and hand-coded sites, among others. If a link can be added to your menu, the shop works. See how it works with your site.
Who adds the Shop link?
We do, if you give us access to your site, or we send your web designer a one-line instruction. You can also add it yourself in a couple of minutes.
Will the shop look like my website?
Yes. Your shop uses your logo, your colours, your photos and your words, so customers feel they never left your site.
Can I change products and prices myself?
Yes. You can change things yourself, or send us your changes (new products, prices, opening hours, holiday closures, seasonal menus) and we make them, usually within a working day or two.
What's included after launch?
Hosting, security, updates and support from real people, in French and English. There is nothing extra to pay for them.
I don't have a website yet. Can you help?
Add Your Shop is designed for businesses that already have a website. If you don't have one yet, write to us and we'll give you an honest answer about whether we're the right fit.
Who is the seller, and who holds what
You sell, your customers are yours, and the payments go to your own account.
Who is the seller?
You are. The sale is between your business and your customer, and payments go to your own Stripe account. As the seller, you set your prices and your terms of sale and are responsible for your products.
Who owns my customers' data?
Customer details from your orders are your customer data. We process them on your behalf, only to run your shop, under our data processing agreement. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
Are payments secure?
Payments are processed by Stripe, which is certified PCI DSS Level 1, the highest level for payment providers. Card details are entered in Stripe's payment form and are not stored by us, and banks can ask customers to confirm payments with 3-D Secure. More about security.
What legal information does my shop need?
As the seller, you need the information required in your country, typically your business details, terms of sale (including how customers can cancel) and a privacy policy. We point you to what is usually needed during setup; for advice on your own situation, ask a legal professional.
How do I make a privacy request?
Write to privacy@addyour.shop to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to ask a question about how we use it.
How do I report a security problem?
Write to security@addyour.shop with what you found. Please report it privately rather than publicly, so we can fix it first. Our security page has more.
Free to stop, free to pause
No minimum term, no subscription to cancel.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
There is no minimum term. You can stop whenever you like. Our terms explain how, in plain language.
How do I stop?
Tell us by email at hello@addyour.shop. We take your shop offline within five working days, or on a later date you choose, and the Shop link comes out of your menu: we remove it if we have access, or you remove it in a minute.
Does stopping cost anything?
No. There is no subscription to cancel and nothing to pay for the months after you stop. Commission only ever applies to orders paid online while your shop is open; you remain responsible for preparing or refunding orders already paid.
Can I pause my shop for holidays?
Yes. Send us your closing dates and we set your shop to stop taking orders until you're back, or mark products as sold out yourself. With no monthly fee, a paused month costs nothing.
What happens to my website, payments and orders when I stop?
Your website stays exactly as it was, minus the Shop link. Your Stripe account is yours, so your payment history stays with you, and every order you received is still in your inbox.
