Comparison

Your own shop or a marketplace? Often, both.

Etsy, Uber Eats and Deliveroo put your products in front of people who don't know you yet. That's their strength, and it's reflected in their fees. Add Your Shop serves the customers who already know you, on your own website, for 2.5% per order and never more than €49 a month.

Marketplace fees checked on Etsy's, Uber Eats' and Deliveroo's official pages in October 2026.

Etsy also charges an Offsite Ads fee of 15% on orders that come from its ads (12% for shops with $10,000 or more in sales over 12 months), capped at $100 per order. Uber Eats' fees are percentages of the order; its UK page lists payment processing among the services they cover. We quote Uber Eats' published prices for Belgium and the UK.

What a month costs

Fees at four sales levels.

Fees for one month with an average order of €50. Not like for like: a marketplace finds the customers, and Uber's delivery figure includes the delivery itself.

The maths

How we worked it out.

The same month, €1,500 from 30 orders of €50, on each platform.

Illustrative example

Etsy, France

Three percentages and a fixed fee per order, plus listing fees.

Transaction fee: 6.5% × €1,500 = €97.50
Payment processing: 4% × €1,500 + 30 × €0.30 = €69.00
Regulatory fee: 1.14% × €1,500 = €17.10
Total: €183.60, plus listing fees
Illustrative example

Uber Eats, Belgium

Customers collect their orders from you; Uber delivery would be 30%.

Pickup fee: 13% × €1,500 = €195.00
Plus the subscription: €3.99 a week
Illustrative example

Add Your Shop

On your own website, with pickup, local delivery or shipping as you choose.

Commission: 2.5% × €1,500 = €37.50
Stripe: 1.5% × €1,500 + 30 × €0.25 = €30.00
Total: €67.50

Illustrative: a marketplace may bring orders you wouldn't otherwise get. Weigh its fees against the value of those new customers.

Questions

Marketplace or your own shop?

All comparisons
Should I leave Etsy or Uber Eats?

Not necessarily. A marketplace can keep bringing new customers while your Shop tab takes orders from the people who already know you, at a lower cost per order.

Do you deliver orders?

No. You choose pickup with time slots, your own local delivery, or shipping. If you need couriers, a delivery app does that part.

Who owns the customer relationship?

With Add Your Shop, orders and customer details come straight to you and payments go to your own Stripe account. On Etsy, sales must stay on the platform: its fees policy prohibits moving a transaction off Etsy.

What does Deliveroo charge?

Deliveroo doesn't publish standard commission rates on its partner pages (checked October 2026). Ask Deliveroo for a quote to compare.

Can I use Add Your Shop for food orders?

Yes. Food shops typically sell with pre-orders, pickup slots and local delivery zones, and we set those up for you. See how it works.
