The maths

How we worked it out.

Three months, line by line, with the published prices above.

Illustrative example

€500: 10 orders of €50

Our €12.50 commission is less than Venture's €35 plan, and more than Starter's €5.

Stripe (same for both): 1.5% × €500 + 10 × €0.25 = €10.00
Add Your Shop: 2.5% × €500 = €12.50 + €10.00 → €22.50
Ecwid Starter: €5 + €10.00 → €15.00
Ecwid Venture: €35 + €10.00 → €45.00
Illustrative example

€1,500: 30 orders of €50

Here Ecwid Venture is €2.50 cheaper on monthly billing, and €8.50 cheaper billed yearly.

Stripe: 1.5% × €1,500 + 30 × €0.25 = €30.00
Add Your Shop: €37.50 + €30.00 → €67.50
Ecwid Venture: €35 + €30.00 → €65.00 (billed yearly: €29 + €30.00 → €59.00)
Illustrative example

€5,000: 100 orders of €50

Our commission stops at €49 for the month; Venture's plan stays at €35.

Stripe: 1.5% × €5,000 + 100 × €0.25 = €100.00
Add Your Shop: €49 (cap) + €100.00 → €149.00
Ecwid Venture: €35 + €100.00 → €135.00

Assumes standard European cards and an average order of €50, and Ecwid connected to Stripe. Your own figures will vary.

All comparisons
Is Ecwid free?

Ecwid's pricing page lists no free plan (checked October 2026). The entry plan, Starter, costs €5 a month for up to 10 products.

Does Ecwid charge a commission?

No. Ecwid says it charges no setup or transaction fees on any plan. Your payment provider's fees still apply.

When is Ecwid cheaper than Add Your Shop?

Starter (up to 10 products) costs less once you sell more than €200 a month. Venture (up to 100 products) costs less from about €1,400 a month on monthly billing, or about €1,160 billed yearly. Below those levels, and in months without sales, we cost less, and we do the setup.
